Play a MIDI file, see it as a piano roll, mute or solo tracks, and export WAV or CSV.

Parsed and synthesised in your browser — nothing is uploaded
Notes are parsed with @tonejs/midi and played through a WebAudio synthesiser built into this page — there is no soundfont download, so the voices are synthetic rather than sampled instruments. Each track is rendered offline once, which is why mute, solo and volume respond instantly while changing tempo or a voice takes a moment. Changing tempo re-renders rather than resampling, so pitch stays put.
MIDI Player & Piano Roll opens a .mid file, plays it through a built-in WebAudio synthesiser, and draws every note on a scrollable piano roll. Tracks can be muted, soloed and revoiced, tempo scaled without pitch change, and any range looped. It reports tempo, time and key signatures and exports WAV or a CSV of note events — all in your browser.
Open a .mid or .midi file and actually hear it, see it, and take it apart. The file is parsed into tracks and drawn as a scrollable piano roll where every note is a bar positioned by pitch and time and shaded by velocity, with a playhead that follows the built-in synthesiser as it plays. Each track gets its own row of controls: mute, solo, volume, a choice of synth voice, and a colour, so you can isolate the bass line or drop the drums and listen to what is left. Tempo is adjustable from a quarter speed crawl up to double time without changing pitch, and you can loop any bar range to learn a passage. The analysis panel reads the file's own metadata — format, division, tempo map, time signatures, key signature, per-track instrument and note counts — and works out the detected key and the pitch range of each part. Export the whole thing as a WAV you can drop into any editor, or a CSV of every note event for analysis. Parsing, synthesis and rendering all happen in your browser.
MIDI Player & Piano Roll provides an immediate way to view, play, and analyze standard .mid files directly in the browser without installing desktop software. It combines a visual piano roll with per-track controls like mute, solo, and voice selection, plus adjustable playback speed and bar-range looping. It also extracts file metadata and supports exporting audio to WAV or note data to CSV entirely client-side.
Good to know: Very large or complex multi-track compositions may push browser processing limits, and users requiring advanced digital audio workstation (DAW) editing capabilities or third-party plugin support will need dedicated desktop software.
Learn how to open, visualize, play, and export your .mid files using the browser-based MIDI Player & Piano Roll.
Open a MIDI file in your browser
Select and open your .mid or .midi file directly within the tool to instantly parse it.
View notes on the piano roll
Watch the scrollable piano roll display every note as a bar positioned by pitch, time, and velocity while the playhead follows the music.
Mute, solo, or revoice tracks
Use the individual track controls to mute, solo, change volumes, switch synth voices, or isolate specific parts like bass lines and drums.
Adjust tempo and loop sections
Scale the playback tempo from quarter speed to double time without changing pitch, and set custom bar ranges to loop passages for practice.
Export audio or note data
Review metadata and detected key in the analysis panel, then export your project as a WAV audio file or a CSV of all note events.
